Spontaneously and rather refreshing: Kunsthalle Linz (K.L.) set up a lovely Vernissage during the opening event of the impressive exhibition "Mahlzeit (meal time)" at Dom Museum Wien.
In keeping with the Dom Museum’s topic on food, I was invited by the two K.L. curators Larissa Meyer and Rebekka Hochreiter(in) to show an extended element of my personal meal time experience. And here we are - the chosen images are demonstrating my favorite morning routine: cutting fruits to enjoy a fruit salad for breakfast. All fruits were consumed in Viet Nam during an artist residency in 2013, in the same year as the foundation of the K.L. museum.
Kunsthalle Linz is radical, flexible and mobile. I meet the two K.L. curators whilst they traveled to the UK, looking for Banksy. Instead they found me - and thanks to their open mind, I was able to enjoy this uplifting opportunity in Vienna. All of us are grateful for the many, many guests that shared that moment with us.
